We believe that it’s important to raise up leaders. That means investing in the next generation, training lay leaders, and honoring those who are coming to the end of their time of service.
Our approach is multi-leveled…
1. The CSI (College Summer Internship) allows lower-classmen the opportunity to have hands on experience in an active ministry during their Summer break.
2. The APP Program is a long-term apprenticeship that stretches from September through the end of May. This allows upper-classmen, or those recently graduated from college, the opportunity to be involved in ministry for an extended period of time. Several of our Apps have come onto our staff since graduating.
3. The Church Planting Residency allows those God has called to plant churches the opportunity to be on staff at EastLake for 2-3 years, giving them not only experience in a successful church-plant setting, but also a foundation from which they can eventually be launched. (Our first resident was Ezra Byer, who now pastors Discovery Pointe Church in Toronto, Ontario)
4. Lay Leadership Development is crucial. We believe ministry isn’t just for those who went to seminary. So, recently we partnered with Shepherd’s Global Classroom to offer Bible training for lay-leaders who didn’t go to school for ministry but are, or desire to be, heavily involved in the ministry at EastLake.
5. The Legacy Program is designed to honor those who have given their life to ministry. We want to show appreciation to them, pour blessings upon them, and give them opportunity to share their experience and wisdom with our leadership.
